1. FREE 6-DAY ENTRY TO THE UK SONGWRITING FESTIVAL **
FREE 6-days entry for the UK Songwriting Festival in Bath this August. (worth £350). This week includes workshops with successful songwriters, demo recording in recording studios, and lectures among other activities and events. UKSWF included workshops and lectures by Nizlopi and Iain Archer (Ivor Novello Award Winner for work on Snow Patrol's 'Final Straw'). 3. PROFESSIONAL SONGWRITING PANEL (FEEDBACK FROM THE INDUSTRY) - NEW 2008!
The winner will get their music forwarded to a wide range of important members of the Music Industry. An extensive list of over a dozen songwriters, publishers, record company executives, music lawyers, instrumentalists, and others has been put together exclusively for the winner of USC 2008. 4. 6-DATE PROMOTIONAL TOUR - NEW 2008!
In consultation with the winner and courtesy of IME Music Promotions, the winner will embark on a 6-date tour performing their winning material. The tour will cover specific areas across the UK, which will be decided in consultation with the songwriter, IME Music and USC in order to best promote your music. 5. SONG PITCHED TO PEER MUSIC PUBLISHING - NEW FOR 2008! ******
Last year's winners Better Than Sax received interest from Peer Music Managing Director and USC Judge Nigel Elderton. Not only did Nigel Elderton choose the winner of USC 2007 but he also invited the winner to come to Peer Music Studios in London to record a single with a possible publishing deal attached. This year Nigel is continuing his position as USC finalist judge. There is no guarantee of a publishing deal for this year's winner but your music will be pitched to Peer Music Publishing.

8. LIVE SHOWCASE AT COLSTON HALL SUPPORTING SIMON FOWLER****
The top 3 finalists will get a chance to perform at Colston Hall, Bristol in front of Music Industry representatives and A and R. This event will be headlined by Simon Fowler from Ocean Colour Scene. There will also be an opportunity to network with these industry representatives. This event will take place in the atmospheric bar area where album launches are regularly held. 9. PERSONAL FEEDBACK FROM THE INDUSTRY *
The top 5 finalists get their songs forwarded direct to the hands and ears of Nigel Elderton at Peer Music Publishing - 'The world's largest independently owned publishing company, and, Nigel Beaham-Powell Deputy Chairman of the Performing Rights Society. Each finalist will get personal feedback on their song from Nigel and Nigel and the other guest finalist judges.
The top 10 will get their songs forwarded to Paul Gray at Musician's Union, former bassist and songwriter for The Damned, for advice and comment on their material.
The top 20 will get their music forwarded to Independent Record Label 'Naim' for evaluation. Owner and Head Producer of the label Simon Drake will personally hear and add comment to the songs. Simon is always on the look out for talented artists and songwriters to build his label.
