• Copyright on any materials entered into the contest is retained by the sender.
  
• Entrants must not be presently or formerly signed to any Music Publishing or Recording Contracts, either on an Independent or Major level.
  
• The opening date for entries is 6th January 2008. Any entry received before this time may not be entered into the contest.
• The closing date for entries is 3rd March 2008.
• Song must be no longer than 6 minutes in length.
• The contest is for anyone age 13 and over. Anyone under the age of 13 must have parents permission before entering.
• All material must be original! No covers!
• Entries can be in any genre of music. All welcome!
• You can enter as a solo songwriter, as a band, or collaboration. We are judging the song. How it is made is up to you!
• Entries will not be judged on how well the songs are produced. Recording quality is not a factor in this contest just as long as the lyrics and main melody lines can be heard.
• You can enter more than one song...One song is £10, three songs is £25, over 3 songs is £30 (9 songs maximum). Each song will be judged individually. However, feedback on larger quantity song entires will be concerning the artist/songwriter as a whole with reference to the key songs.
• 12% of your entrance fee will be donated to the MBF & BTA.
  
• Unfortunately, CD's can not be returned to sender.
• You do not have to be a UK resident to enter the contest. However, we can not be responsible for any tranvel or accomodation issues for any entrant attending any of their prize dates, if they were to win.
